On the 11th, we decided to visit the Old Jameson Distillery so we booked tickets for the next day at 1pm.

Student tickets are EUR12

It was a nice experience. We checked in at 5 minutes til and took some photos in the meantime.

The tour started with a 10 minute short film of the history of Jameson. Then walked around the building. Our tour guide showed us the process of how the whiskey's made (lot's of thermodynamics to consider)

Model of the old distillery

Whiskey of varying ages in casks. From woods of various locations.

...and at the end of it we had a whiskey tasting to see the difference between scotch (Johnnie Walker), Irish whiskey (Jameson, of course) and American (Jack Daniels).

Jameson was the best. Just sayin'.

We noted how types of grain/wooden casks/distillation process all contributed to the final product and most importantly how to properly consume whiskey.

It was a nice experience and at the end of it everyone on the tour got either straight Jameson or a Jameson and ginger cocktail (which was delicious, by the way)
