I'm not going to pretend that I've escaped racism having left the states. It's less prominent in Dublin, I think, but there has been a couple of incidents in which ignorant people say hurtful things (to me and another black friend). Still, it's important to not let fear of discrimination or racism discourage traveling.
Despite those incidents, Ireland and the people have been amazing to me. I've fallen in love in Dublin and am dreading the day I have to return back to Florida!
